Guz Architects is the company responsible for creating one of Singapore’s most staggering homes, dubbed as the Fish House, a modern tropical bungalow that encapsulates the essence of living here. The main design concept was to create a house which has a close relationship with nature and that was achieved by using only natural materials and by having a swimming pool linking the house with the surrounding landscape.
The basement level media-room has an u-shaped acrylic window which allows natural light in and also allows guests to enjoy beautiful views of the pool. On the upper levels, the big floor to ceiling windows also fill this modern home with light and provide stunning views of the ocean.
The curved roof of the home symbolizes the waves of the sea, in an effort to connect with the nearby sea. The roof is almost totally covered with thin bendable photovoltaic panels which supply enough solar energy to the house making this house really energy efficient and giving its residents the opportunity to live in harmony and comfort with the surrounding landscapes.
