Following up on its acclaimed Sequential One and Sequential Two series, Swiss high-end watchmaker MCT has just revealed its latest collection, called the Frequential One.
The main feature of the watch is that it has a balance wheel in the center of the dial with the hands underneath it, which might seem like just another design choice, but is actually quite the technical feat. The focus is somewhat shifted from the hands, which makes the telling of the time a bit more complicated than usual, while also giving the timepiece a very distinctive appearance, different from anything we’ve seen before. There’s also a power reserve indicator under 12 o’clock, a useful feature for any manually wound movement. Speaking of which, this mechanism is called the MCT-F1.0 and has 279 parts, and a frequency of 2.5 Hz.
The rectangular-shaped case is 42 mm wide, 42 mm tall and 14 mm thick, and is made from grade 5 titanium. Made using 45 pieces with sapphire crystals, it is water resistant to 30 meters.
Those intrigued by this remarkable timepiece will have to dig really deep in their pockets to actually purchase it, as the MCT Frequential One F110 comes with a rather hefty price tag of 44,500 Swiss francs, the equivalent of about $44,000.
