Unveiled at Baselworld 2015, the Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Chronograph is another bespoke addition to the Swiss luxury brand’s Mille Miglia GTS line, a beautiful family of watches inspired from the famous open road endurance race that was once held in Italy. Today the actual race was turned into an incredible event for classic and vintage cars, going for a ride between Brescia and Rome.
Apart from the Chronograph, the Mille Miglia GTS family also includes a three hand Automatic timepiece and a Power Control watch. They all feature a complex movement developed in-house by Chopard, with 25 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 48 hours.
The Chronograph version is a little more elegant than the other two watches and that’s why we’ve decided to feature it on Luxatic. It comes with a matte velvet black dial, featuring white and red transfers with the numerals, appliques, facetted hours, minutes and seconds hands, being made from rhodium or gilt.
The case of the watch could be in either stainless steel or 18kt rose gold, featuring an AR-coated sapphire crystal and a sapphire display back featuring the inscriptions “Mille Miglia” and “Brescia > Roma > Brescia”. Customers could choose between a black rubbed strap inspired from the old Dunlop racing tires and a stainless steel bracelet with a steel or a gold folding clasp.
