The iconic women’s Royal Oak timepiece celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, that’s why Audemars Piguet has decided to unveil a new gorgeous watch for ladies, called the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Frosted Gold. A refreshed version of the very appreciated original design, this exquisite watch comes in white gold and rose gold, both of them looking absolutely amazing.
Developed in collaboration with jewelry master Carolina Bucci, the new Royal Oak Frosted Gold honors the style and character of the female designers behind the Royal Oak legacy. The defining feature of the Royal Oak Frosted Gold is the shimmering sparkle resulted from the use of the Florentine technique on the unique case and bracelet construction of the watch.
By beating the gold with a diamond-tipped tool, the overall vibe of the watch resembles the one put out by a precious stone. It was quite a challenge to achieve these results without damaging the stylish lines of the Royal Oak’s design, but as you can see from these photos, the watchmakers from AP have done a brilliant job once again.
The Royal Oak is one of the world’s most iconic watch designs, and this special version seems to be just another lovely iteration, with an 18kt white or rose gold case, that could be either 37 mm or 33 mm. Things are also looking really good with the AR-coated sapphire crystal, a sapphire display back for the 37 mm version and 50-meters worth of water resistance.
Movement is provided by a Swiss automatic Audemars-Piguet in-house caliber 3120, with 40 jewels, 21,600 vph and a power reserve of 60 hours, but the 33 mm version makes use of the Swiss quartz caliber 2713 with 7 jewels. Acting as a finishing touch is a hammered 18kt white or rose gold bracelet, with an AP folding clasp – as we were expecting.
