Following the launch of its first golf watch, the Approach S1, back in 2010, Garmin is now back with the Approach S3 Touchscreen GPS Golf Watch. It practically includes the GPS features in the past series, the difference now being that it also has a touchscreen system. In addition, the watch offers detailed information about 27,000 golf courses throughout the Globe, updatable costless whenever you need.

This watch gets you where no other will, on the field – and that’s in front of your adversaries. The Green View feature allows the user to take a glimpse of the current green, plus the flag can be simply adjusted for the day’s pin placement only by tapping the watch’s dial. The watch can also display layup distances, precise yardages to the black, middle and front of the next green and green overviews. The Stroke Play and Stableford game types can be preset, with scores.

The total weight of this incredible timepiece is just 2 ounces, while the screen is totally readable in dark or powerful sunlight. It’s also water resistant and packs a rechargeable battery that may last up to 4 weeks as a simple watch or 8 hours in case of continuous playing time in GPS mode.

The worldwide sales vice president of Garmel, Dan Bartel, states: “With its new features, like the innovative Green View, digital scoring and design of the glove-friendly touchscreen, the Approach S3 creates a new advantage for golfers all over the world. It’s light-weight, it includes a round timer to keep track of time played and the color options will make it a talking point on and off the course.”

The non-touchscreen version of this watch (loaded with 18,000 U.S. and Canadian courses and available only in North America) comes at a mere $250 per unit, while the one we’ve presented so far is available for $350 per unit. They also come in two different color combinations, in black with gray trim or white with red trim. The screen is available in white or black. Orders may start by the end of April.
