After introducing the new version of the Porsche Boxster just a couple of months ago, the German automaker has unveiled the 2017 Porsche 718 Cayman as well, a classy sportscar which comes with various styling tweaks and several equipment upgrades compared to its predecessor.
Obviously, everyone is focusing on the new turbocharged flat-four engines replacing the naturally aspirated sixes we’ve all been used to. As such, a 300-hp 2.0-liter engine will be powering up the new Cayman, while the Cayman S will boast a 2.5-liter engine that’s good for around 350 hp.
According to Porsche, the Cayman S will now do 0 to 60 mph (100 km/h) in a mere 4 seconds and continue to accelerate until reaching a maximum speed of 177 mph, while the standard car will get to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and max out at 170.
Porsche engineers also found it fitting to equip the new car with new brakes, while the Porsche Cayman S will also come with the much improved Porsche Active Suspension Management Sport suspension. The 718 Cayman is on sale, and is scheduled for deliveries starting this summer, in Europe; US shores will have to wait until November.
You will have to pay at least $54,950 for the base model, while the S version will start off at $67,350. Not bad, right?
