Swiss brand SevenFriday is about to release its second collection, which includes the M1 and M2 watches.
The new timepieces are similar to the previous “P” series, with the same 47mm cushion-shaped case and a similar overall look and feel. The watches are once again fitted with Japanese Miyota mechanical movements, but with different movements which were modified to use discs rather than hands to indicate the time.
According to the manufacturer, the M1 watch dial design is inspired by turbines, while the M2 draws inspiration from “old power measuring tools such as ammeters or old radios”. Both are comprised of six layers and have 10 applied parts. These watches tell the time through the use three custom-made discs used to indicate seconds, minutes, and hours. This admittedly takes a bit of getting used to, however it adds to the unique feel the timepieces have.
SevenFriday will release the new collection during June of 2014, with the M1 being priced at about $1,340 (1,197 Swiss Francs) while the M2 will be available for $1,490 (1,329 Swiss Francs).
