Three brand new collections have been unveiled during this spring by Swarovski Crystallized – they are all inspired by the film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s literary classic The Great Gatsby. Mind you, this used to be quite a movie, with stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire.
There are a few words that can perfectly describe the style of this collection – “flapper” look, wild jazz, art deco stylings, cloche hats, bright red lipstick and the 1920s. The collections which Swarovski Crystals has chosen to bring back the noir of the past twenties with are the Ben Amun Iris Deco, the Kenny Ma and the Martine Wester Ivy. They comprise exquisite pieces that range from pearl-encrusted bracelets to crystal-embellished hairpieces poised to entice all women with some retro passion in their hearts. As F. Scott Fitzgerald used to say in The Great Gatsby – “Can’t repeat the past?…Why of course you can!”.
