Chess is an elegant and sophisticated game – and with the release of this beautiful chess board, Ferrari has also added an element of luxury to it.
While many automakers sell various products unrelated to their main activity, often in partnership with other high-end brands, those items are usually things like watches or luggage. The legendary Italian sports car manufacturer, known to be highly selective when it comes to its clientele, has chosen a different route and created a special chess board for those who appreciate this gentlemanly game.
The Ferrari chess set is entirely handcrafted in Italy and made out of carbon fiber covered in wood. The pieces are made from black and red varnished wood and of course the artisans got their inspiration from the design of the iconic prancing horse when making the Knights. Also included are 16 black and 16 red pieces you can use to play draughts, a usual feature for such sets.
The Ferrari carbon fiber chess board will set you back a little over $2,000.
