Caterham has recently unveiled a special edition version of the Seven 250 R, designed by Kamui Kobayashi, one of the British automaker’s Formula 1 drivers.
The Caterham Seven Kamui Kobayashi is powered by a 1.6 Ford Sigma engine which churns out 125 bhp, which, combined with the vehicle’s low weight (the company’s specialty) ensures it can accelerate from naught to 62 mph in just 5.9 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 122 mph. The power plant is connected to a six-speed manual transmission, a limited slip differential, and a rear-wheel-drive system.
With regards to its exterior, the special edition Caterham Seven features a high-gloss black paint with matt black sport stripes, a 10 badge on its nose, with front wings and rear wing protectors that are finished in green carbon. The vehicle is a single seater, with the passenger side featuring an aluminum tonenau cover. It also has a single-sided rollover hoop fixed to the rear bulkhead, 13-inch diamond cut black wheels, and a polished chrome exhaust.
The interior, on the other hand, features a green carbon fiber dashboard, a carbon sport bucker seat, and a Takata 4-point harness. In addition to these, there are also special gauge inlays, an anodized green gear knob and anodized green key.
The Caterham Seven Kamui Kobayashi will be released as a limited edition of just ten units and will be sold exclusively in Japan for JPY 6 million, or about $60,000.
