Daniel Roth is a Swiss watchmaker founded in 1989 and subsequently acquired by Italian luxury brand Bulgari. It has recently released a beautiful timepiece called the Papillon Voyageur.
Papillon is French for “butterfly”, which in this case is a reference to the complicated way the two small hands indicate the minutes on this timepiece’s dial. This sophisticated mechanism is housed in a signature Daniel Roth Collection double-ellipse, 18kt pink gold case that is pretty substantial in size. The watch also features an anthracite dial and a brown alligator strap with an 18kt pink gold folding buckle.
The Papillon Voyageur watch is certainly not for everyone, so you would expect not many pieces will be produced. And you would be perfectly right – only 99 of these complicated, yet elegant timepieces will ever be released, with each of them priced at a substantial $52,100.
