The beautiful Brazilian countryside hides more than just various plants and amazing wildlife. Here is where you can find the Saint Andrews Gramado, a breathtaking retreat inspired by the magnificent Scottish lodge which bears the same name.

In Brazilian Portuguese, the term ‘gramado’ translates as ‘an area of shaded lawn where travelers can rest on their way through’ which seems like a perfect name for this stunning retreat. Guests here can enjoy some of the most serene views over the Quilombo Valley, experiencing an amazing service and old world hospitality.

Basically a boutique lodge, the Saint Andrews Gramado offers just 11 different accommodations, each of them named after a precious stone which gives the color of the individual décor found within the room. As odd as it may sound, children are not permitted here, as they might ruin the peaceful tranquility a lot of guests desire.

Boredom is also avoided, with the guests having the option to choose between biking, wine seminars, cooking classes or a round at the local 9-hole golf course. You can enjoy plenty of wine options from the well-stocked wine cellar, while the hotel restaurant serves up sophisticated international cuisine which should make for a unique dining experience.
