Porsche Exclusive’s Retouched 718 Is A Subtle Bird Of Pray

I’m not sure why or who thought the Porsche 718 wasn’t exclusive enough, but it seems that idea stuck and resulted in the car maker’s Exclusive program adding more where plenty wasn’t enough. Porsche has recently retouched its Boxster and Cayman models, adding the 718 nameplate to them and equipping these sports cars with new flat-four cylinder engines.

The same engine layout was used in the iconic mid-engine 718 sports car, which used to win numerous races in the late 1950s and early 1960s. But the current Porsche 718 is powered by a much more potent flat four, a turbocharged 2.0L unit developing 299 PS (295 HP) in the regular Boxter/Cayman, while the ‘S’ variants brag about 349 PS (345 HP) coming out of a 2.5-liter.

Porsche’s Exclusive division added some exterior and interior touches to this ride, in an effort to make our lives a bit better. The yellow 718 Boxster you see here has received a SportDesign package, a sports exhaust system with black tailpipes, painted model designation badges at the back, as well as a set of 20″ Carrera Sport wheels with a high gloss finish.

Inside, the same black and yellow theme can be seen on the carbon-fiber interior package, on the dials and Sport Chrono stopwatch, with the GT sports steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara,  The 718 Cayman, however, looks a bit more discreet, featuring brushed aluminum and stainless steel interior trim, white interior accents and silver colored exterior elements finish off its stylish looks.
