It seems like conquering the depths of the ocean, the mountain peaks, the Moon and even the most renowned sports events in the world haven’t stopped the Swiss luxury watchmaking brand from venturing into yet another field – the combination of metals. Their latest achievement is the creation of Sedna, an extremely good looking 18-carat rose gold alloy that is also extremely resistant to all sorts of shocks and aggressions.

Yet, inventing some sort of metal is not enough, therefore they’ve also come up with a watch to encompass its essence – the Omega Constellation Sedna limited edition wristwatch has ultimately come to life.

Composed of three different elements, palladium, rose gold and copper, the metal alloy was dubbed Sedna after a trans-Neptunian reddest object which was called the Sedna by astronomers – the name is also shared by the Inuit goddess said to live at the bottom of the Arctic Ocean. As for the timepiece, it will reportedly be available in 1,952 units, number that reminds of the year Omega first launched the famous Constellation series.

In order to highlight its presence into this beautiful watch and to underline its perfect glamour, Omega has used the Sedna gold alloy at the manufacture of the hands, indexes and the clasp on the strap. The timepiece features a polished case with brushed bezel garnished with tone-in-ton Roman numerals, to help with reading the actual time. It also boasts an exquisite silver pie-pan dial which reminds of the first Constellation timepiece from 1952.

Other useful technical details to mention are the innovate Si14 silicone balance spring, Co-Axial calibre 8501 visible through the superb sapphire crystal caseback, water resistance to 100 meters and the staggering wooden presentation box with rose colored lining it comes delivered inside.
