Luxury watchmakers are often teaming up with other companies to design new versions of their existing watches and the results are usually pretty impressive. The latest collaboration like this was between Raymond Weil and Piper Aircraft for a stunning pilot watch which named Raymond Weil Freelancer Piper.
The new, gorgeous Raymond Weil timepiece features various airplane-inspired cues, such as the sub-seconds dial at 9 o’clock, which resembles the altitude indicator from the dashboard of a plane, or the handset, which depicts the rotor blades found on the front of the plane.
The Raymond Weil Freelancer Piper comes in a sleek case measuring 45 mm in diameter, that’s built out of both steel and titanium and houses a RW5020 chronograph. The GMT complication is beautifully complemented by the tachymeter bezel around the AR-coated sapphire crystal.
Produced in a limited run of just 1,500 pieces, this wonderful timepiece is definitely aimed at those who love to fly, but that doesn’t mean others aren’t allowed to enjoy it if they’re willing to pay $3,495 for it. For this price they will also get a model of a Raymond Weil-branded Piper airplane, but they’ll have to wait until early fall to get their hands on one of these stunning watches.
