Baselworld 2016 saw MB&F join forces with Black Badger, in an effort to shock and awe everyone attending the show with the HMX watch and Starfleet Machine clock, both of them planned to be produced in a very, very limited run.

In case you don’t know too many things about Black Badger, you should know that this small company manufactures a high-performance solid luminous compound, which – as you can easily see – can be molded into any shape or size. The powerful and lasting resulting glow adorns these exquisite MB&F creations, complementing the watchmaker’s wild projects.

You might remember MB&F’s 10th anniversary was celebrated by the HMX and its open sapphire display, but these watches are even more impressive. The automatic movement is based on a Sellita gear train and beats at 4Hz, with a power reserve of 42 hours. The Black Badger edition adds that wonderful glow to an already stunning design.

Offered in three different color variations, the titanium and steel MB&F HMX Black Badger features a cool blue fully luminous time display and Black Badger luminous inserts. Looking like glowing fuel cells, the color options also include “Radar Green,” “Phantom Blue,” and “Purple Reign.”

On the other hand, the MB&F Starfleet Machine Black Badger does not stray away from the same recipe, with this limited edition piece showing off palladium plated brass, along with the same three color options as the MB&F HMX Black Badger.

With an impressive 40-day power reserve, a fully displayed balance and twin 20-second retrograde animated cannons, the MB&F Starfleet Machine was already an incredible piece of design. Please note that only 18 units of each of these watches will be available, with the HMX Black Badger models retailing at 48,000 CHF, while the MB&F Starfleet Machine version will sell for 33,000 CHF.
