Established in 1770 by Voltaire, one of the most prominent figures of the Enlightenment, Manufacture Royale was revived in 2010 and aims to honor its prestigious heritage with watches like the 1770 Flying Tourbillon.

The exquisite piece being showcased here is named after the year of the watchmaker’s founding. It comes in a stainless steel case measuring 43 mm in diameter, with a sapphire crystal, a sapphire display back, and water resistant to 30 meters.

The Manufacture Royale 1770 features the Swiss manual-wind in-house caliber MR03 with 19 jewels, 21,600 vph, and a power reserve of 108 hours. The highly-polished piece is entirely finished and decorated by hand and boasts Côtes de Genève and gold engraving.

The highlight of the watch is its flying tourbillion which makes one revolution in 60 seconds and is placed at 7 o’clock. This unusual asymmetrical positioning adds a further touch of personality to the timepiece. The sword-shaped hands are partly satin-finished and partly polished, while the strap is black alligator with hand-rolled edges and a steel buckle.

Stunningly beautiful and bearing a highly-reputable name, the Manufacture Royale 1770 Flying Tourbillon comes with a price tag of $58,000.
