The Impossible is a Lightweight, Durable, Folding Electric Bike

Here’s another interesting product that’s gained quite a bit of momentum on Kickstarter: a folding electric bicycle created by a company going by the rather cool name of Impossible Technology.

The bike is called Impossible, partly because its designers took it upon themselves to achieve a very difficult goal: creating a bike that was both lightweight and durable, and then figure out a way to make it foldable, so riders can take advantage of those qualities and maybe carry it around in their backpacks. The result is a compact design with a frame built around circles instead of a single horizontal girder. Impossible has ten 2900mah 10A 3.6V 44.5g batteries and can travel up to 12.4 mph for 45 minutes or at normal speed for up to 15.6 miles. Remarkably, the bike can carry up to 180 pounds (85 kilograms) safely and comfortably and can be folded and unfolded in just four easy steps.

The project has already far exceeded its Kickstarter goal and is expected to gain even more support as the funding campaign will continue until the end of the year. You can get an Impossible bike by pledging at least C$430(the equivalent of about $380 in US currency), with additional exclusive models also available for C$460 ($405) and C$530 ($470). Deliveries are expected to begin in August 2015.
