As Usain Bolt is an ambassador for Hublot, the renowned watchmaker has put together an exquisite timepiece as a celebration of stunning performance, the Hublot King Power Usain Bolt. The chairman of Hublot, Jean-Claude Biver, stated that: “It’s perfectly natural to be associated with the fastest man, not just on the planet, but the fastest since the Big Bang.”

The stunning performance had happened in Kingston, Jamaica, at the National Stadium, where the 25-year-old sportsman has managed to pull out a 9.82 seconds time in a 100 meter race. He is currently training to be able to defend his 100, 200 and 4×100 meters titles at the games due to be taking place in London this year.

As we found out, his main preference regarding the watch was to serve as a fusion of the symbols representing everything he holds clear. The main aspect was the silhouette, translated in an anthracite grey transfer on a black background at the 9 o’clock position, within the centre of the movement’s permanent small seconds counter. In addition, the choice to appear at the center of the permanent chronograph is a symbol for the endless time that flows without stopping.

The chronograph movement encompasses a central 60-second hand, a 30-minute counter at the 3 o’clock spot and a 12-hour counter which resides at 6 o’clock, decorated with a bit of green, honoring the flag of his mother country, Jamaica. The list of features ends with a date window, at the 4:30 position.

The watch measures a fine 48 millimeters in diameter and sports micro-blasted ceramic material. Colored in black with a touch of gold, Bolt’s particular color and the one on his lucky footwear, it symbolizes his personal beliefs and preferences. The golden flange sports a 2N gold powder coating.

The strapping consists of exactly the same synthetic leather, colored in golden tones, as the shoes he was wearing on the occasion of the Beijing Olympic Games, in 2008, when he broke the world records, carefully stitched to black rubber – it provides maximum flexibility, strength and comfort, all fabled marks of Hublot.

The watch features a total of 27 jewels, consists of 252 different components and will be available in a limited series of 250 pieces. It’s simply a well-wishing from Hublot, on the occasion of the dire season due to come. We’d like to wish him all the best as well!
