Known for refining a lot of prestige models, British tuner Kahn Design has recently moved to the world of coachbuilt cars, unveiling marvels like the Flying Huntsman based on the Land Rover Defender and now planning a jaw dropping grand tourer based on the Aston Martin DB9.

The upcoming coachbuilt supercar will be called WB12 Vengeance with “WB” standing for “wide body” and 12 representing the number of cylinders hiding under the hood. All the mechanical parts of the DB9 will be left untouched, which means the WB12 will have the same, powerful 6.0L V12 engine under the hood, which delivers 510 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque.

This is coachbuilding in its traditional sense, as Afzal Kahn, the company’s CEO and founder, has declared. Kahn Design is just taking a tried and tested product and works solely on its looks, turning this Aston Martin DB9 into an even more exclusive supercar, with new, ravishing looks, both outside and inside the cockpit as well.

The exterior of the Kahn Design WB12 Vengeance is heavily influenced by the lines of the original Vanquish, with a more brutal look which combines volume with flowing curves to get more aggressiveness that the DB9 was lacking, according to Afzal Kahn.

The new wide body of this coachbuilt supercar has been in the works for nearly six years and it’s made from lightweight aluminum molded through traditional methods. Even the wheels on this supercar will be changed to go well with this staggered body, with the WB12 sitting on 16-spoke 20″ wheels up front and 18-spoke 21″ wheels in the back.

Inside, Kahn Design will ditch the virtually useless 2+2 seating of the DB9, turning it into a spacious two seater, covered in a luxurious quilted leather.

Kahn Design will produce this bespoke version of the Aston Martin DB9 in just 20 units, each of them built by hand by the company’s craftsmen and automotive experts an featuring an engraved plaque in the trunk with the names of the people who worked on it.

There’s no word on the pricing yet but Kahn is histing that the production will start later this year. Looking forward to see the first official photos of this beauty!
