French fine crystal glassware manufacturer Baccarat has chosen the Church of San Carpoforo to as the setting to celebrate “250 years of perfection and light”. The location was chosen to provide contrast between the somber surroundings and the glittering crystal, with the highlight being the sumptuous Zenith chandelier.

Designer Philippe Starck created the Zenith Image in partnership with STMicroelectronics, one of the world’s largest semiconductor companies, who provided Baccarat with its state-of-the-art pico-projector technology. The 24L Zenith Image concept chandelier is the first of its kind to combine light and moving images. Its vivid red is the result of a combination of clear crystal a 24kt gold, while a projector located beneath the shade displays a series of images that do a lot to enhance the setup’s glamorous air.

In addition to the chandelier, Baccarat has showcased other exquisite pieces as well. There’s a $130,000 heritage Sun Clock, a couple of beautiful vases, one in clear crystal, the other in black (priced at $26,000 and $35,000, respectively), and even a $28,000 Harcourt chess set, to name just a few.

It’s probably a case of images speaking louder than words, so check out the gallery below to get a sense of this exquisite new creation by Baccarat.
