Ulysse Nardin is particularly competent in the art of enameling – and the latest addition to its Classico collection, called the Amerigo Vespucci, is a great illustration of that fact.
The exquisite timepiece is made using an enameling technique known as cloissoné. The technique is used to create fine segments divided by fine gold wire (the cloison). Each of these sections prevents the liquid powdered enamel to flow into other melting chambers. The process of making the cloisons takes 50 hours of painstaking work to complete, during which the artisan uses more than 500mm of fine gold wire.
The stunning Ulysse Nardin Classico Amerigo Vespucci comes with a 40mm case and an automatic manufacture UN caliber 815. It was released as a limited edition series, with 30 timepieces in white gold and the same number in rose gold.
