Dior Grand Soir Kaléidiorscope

The world’s most important annual event in the watch and jewelry universe hosted the premiere of Dior’s brand new timepieces, called the Dior VIII Grand Bal Pièce Unique Ondine and Dior Grand Soir Kaléidiorscope, both of these pieces being totally exquisite in their own way.

The Ondine watch actually honors the French luxury fashion label’s Ondine dress, which was unveiled in the 1947 haute-couture autumn-winter collection. Boasting 648 diamonds, tsavorites, amethysts and sapphires, all set on white, rose or yellow gold, the dial of this watch is totally difficult to ignore – and that’s an understatement.

Equally impressive is the “Dior Inversé 11½” movement, that makes this jewel tick. Part of a limited-edition of just 12 units, the Dior VIII Grand Bal Pièce Unique Ondine benefits from a leather bracelet, either in a metallic shade or in black satin.

The Grand Soir Kaléidiorscope, on the other hand, was inspired by the delicate embroideries designed by the Fresh house for the beautiful dresses everyone appreciates. Decorated with more than 180 precious metal and stone touches, the dial shows off an explosion of gorgeous colors and lines.

At the heart of this watch, the “Elite 681” automatic calibre movement handles its business more than honorably. The caseback allows the admiration of the pure-wrought rotor, which might prove to be a difficult thing to do, considering that only 8 pieces will be available. Please note that the Kaléidiorscope can be had with a denim or black satin bracelet.
