Nominated for the Mechanical Exception Award at the 2015 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, Complication One is the first timepiece of an incredible collection, designed by Emmanuel Bouchet. Featuring a new type of transmission system and a new way of reading time, this gorgeous timepiece will be available in titanium, platinum and 18 kt rose or white gold cases.
A sapphire crystal decorates its precious body while the movement is a Swiss manual-wind Bouchet in-house caliber EB1963, which works at 18,000 vph. The watch also features a dynamic, multi-level dial, comprised of sapphire discs seemingly floating over a white or black onyx dial base.
Hours are displayed at 8 o’clock while minutes and ten-minutes are indicated in an original yet intuitive way at 4 o’clock by two jumping hands, the ten-minutes hand being also a retrograde hand. A day-night indicator is located at 12 o’clock on a disc underneath the seconds disc.
If you’re thinking about price tags right now, you should sit back a little. The ADLC Titanium version is priced at $98,000, the 18kt Rose or White Gold will set you back $108,000, while the Platinum version goes for $128,000.
