A splendor on the blue of the seas – Azimut Magellano 50’s maiden voyage has taken place on the 26th of April at Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club this year. The vessel, the first long range 50 foot yacht in the world, has received a RINA Green Plus certification, which comes to prove its attachment to everything that means life and environment.

Just a few of today’s cruisers are even eligible to bear such a remarkable certification, this particular one being due to its motor yacht eco-compatibility. The vessel can cruise, with speeds of up to 8 knots, in complete silence, powered exclusively by its electric engines.

The maiden voyage ceremony of the Magellano 50 featured an entire array of western and Chinese styles and elements, with even a fashion show having taken place on the occasion of the event. Other traditions have also been involved, like piglet cutting, smashing a bottle of Champagne on the ship’s hull and worship.

The premieres this yacht represents aren’t only in terms of propulsion. It also sports an outdoor bow salon, with an exquisite spot with sofas, from which guests can admire the breathtaking views surrounding the yacht, and four alternative layouts below deck.
