The first superyacht from Cantieri di Pisa‘s new generation of vessels, Akhir 42S, is apparently already in the works, for a lucky Japanese client. Designed entirely by Luca Dini, this stunning yacht is set to reach its new home (and owner) by the spring of 2018.
Cantieri di Pisa’s Akhir range has been extremely popular between the 1980s and 90s, and the shipyard’s new management aims to bring this range back on our radar with this exciting design. The Akhir 42 reminds us a little bit of older Akhir models, with the original design exemplified by the smoked glass windows, the subtle external lines and the shark nose bow.
But the new layout also shows off numerous updates that brings the classic design into the 21st century, keeping in line with modern design trends. The owner’s cabin is set in the bow on the main deck, while the main galley is placed in the middle of the same deck. There’s also a beautiful sky lounge that completely revises the upper deck area, adding privacy to the owner’s environment as well as a wonderful saloon.
Powering up this vessel are twin MTU 16V 2000 M94 engines, enabling it to reach a maximum speed of 23 knots and a cruising speed of 21 knots, but if you’re cruising at 20 knots the Akhir 42S could cover a distance of 2,000 nm. There’s no point in asking if you like what you see, right?
