The folk behind Jaguar have recently thought of extending their collection of track-focused cars with a limited edition version of the XKR dubbed the 2014 XKR-S GT. Well, it hasn’t yet gone into production, as the brand has announced the model will be officially introduced at the New York Auto Show.
The ones responsible for the design are Jaguar’s own Engineered to Order (ETO) division and they have come up with a rather interesting and pretty aggressive project, with carbon fiber front splitter, carbon fiber wheel arch spats, carbon fiber canards, huge rear wing, carbon fiber diffuser and ventilated hood. In addition, Jaguar folk have added aluminium valance and a set of lightweight alloy wheels measuring 20 inches in diameter and wrapped in Pirelli Corsa tires of sizes 305/30 at the rear and respectively 255/35 at the front.
There’s an obvious sporty character to this magnificent 4-wheeler, which is further carried on inside the cabin – the car sports leather/Alcantara sports seats with red contrasting stitching, one off sill plates and aluminium paddle shifters. Performance-wise, this gorgeous car boasts a 5.0-liter V8 delivering 550 HP (404 kW) and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and to an active electronic differential. The result is rather dramatic – the XKR-S GT sprints from 0-60 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and reaches a stunning top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
To better its handling, Jaguar specialists have fitted the XKR-S GT with sports-tuned suspension with revamped bushings and brand new adaptive dampers with a so-called “race-derived twin spring system”. The car also includes an improved steering system, carbon ceramic brakes with discs measuring 398 mm at the front and 380 mm at the rear, all alongside a brand new traction control system.
According to Jaguar officials, this staggering car will only be available as limited edition, of only 30 pieces, exclusively available in Polaris White exterior- cool!
