While not the most revolutionary release the Swiss brand has revealed this year, the limited edition Urwerk UR-100V Iron watch shows off a gorgeous industrial vibe. Only 25 examples of this beauty will be ever made, each one set to cost you 48,000 CHF. Just a quick glance at this stunning timepiece and I’m sure we can all agree it’s worth every single penny. And then some.

Stainless steel sports watches, with sophisticated designs like this one, seem to sell at prices well above even their counterparts in precious metals. As such, big names on the market are looking to reinterpret some of their models in stainless steel, and the wild world of Haute Horlogerie has not remained behind this trend.

As a result, one of the most recognizable Urwerk models has been transformed recently into a high concept tribute – the limited edition Urwerk UR-100V Iron.

Packing an updated movement, the asymmetrical 41-millimeter case keeps in line with the Sci-Fi inspired claw-like form of this watch that we all know and love. But its superb case is now a blend of stainless steel and titanium elements, leading to a wonderful industrial look.

From the side, the sapphire bubble domes of both the crystal and the case back deliver a fascinating blend of organic and industrial forms, drawing attention wherever it may roam. Speaking of attention, the unique skeleton dial does not disappoint either.

But the UR-100V Iron has many other details that would help it stand out from a crowd. We have to mention that the carousel that rotates each disk is made in shot-peened aluminum, while the circular brushed disks, as well as the baseplates, have been crafted from an advanced antimagnetic ARCAP alloy.

The UR-100V Iron also features blue Super-LumiNova painted into the engraved hours and minutes markers, while the fiery engine red minutes indicator keeps track of time. Powering everything up is the in-house UR 12.02 automatic movement, that was hidden behind the exquisite skeleton dial of this watch.

This complex caliber benefits from a rearranged carousel for the satellite hours disks, it comes with the same unique Windfänger winding rotor and a 48-hour power reserve. In the end, the Urwerk UR-100V Iron is paired with a padded Alcantara strap teasing with a navy blue shade. Would you like to be one of the lucky 25 people who will get to show off this watch?
