The shining object in front of you is the Ducati 1199 Polished Panigale, a ravishing motorcycle based on the 1199 S model that obviously overshadows all other two-wheelers on the roads today. Showing off a refined sense of luxury, this unique project mixes Italian prowess with outrageous details and incredible attention to detail.
The 1199 Polished Panigale started off as a concept illustration, but the brilliant team at Ortolani Customs decided it would be better for everyone involved – and not only – to make this happen. As such, the original Ducati has been transformed into an alloy-clad-race bike, using only traditional metal shaping techniques.
The French garage shaped aluminum over wooden bucks to form this shiny new exterior, including the fuel tank, airbox, fuel pump, and also the wasp-like tail at the rear. Acting as a finishing touch is the elegant, brown-leather saddle from NMB designs, meant to make the rider’s experience even more enjoyable, but there’s way more to this bike than just good looks.
Ortolani Customs also went for various performance tweaks; as such, the Superquadro L-twin now benefits from a larger set of pistons and an Akrapovic enhanced exhaust system, taking its power to a cool 210 ponies, while high performance Brembo brakes, with 330 mm racing carbon ceramic discs, and ultra light OZ racing forged rims wrapped in Michelin rubber fit nicely into the mix.
