The Legendary Playboy Mansion Is Changing Hands

Playboy Mansion

According to the Wall Street Journal, the storied Playboy Mansion has already found a new owner, and it seems that Hollywood’s ultimate party palace was actually purchased by its next-door neighbor. A surprise for most of us, but not for the 32-year-old Daren Metropoulos, the lucky new owner of this property, who also paid $18 million for the house next door back in 2009.

Metropoulos is the name behind the private equity firm Metropoulos & Co., which owns Hostess Brands, and apparently he’s also the son of Greek billionaire C. Dean Metropoulos. The official price-tag for the Playboy Mansion is still unknown, but we do know that the mansion was listed for a staggering $200 million back in January. We doubt the price has gone that much lower since then.

The sought after estate was built back in 1927 and its heritage just impresses everyone, teasing and hypnotizing every adolescent boy and grown man for generations now. There some pretty outrageous stories, not to mention sexy photo-shoots worth reminiscing, but let’s not go down that road – for now.

Instead, we will mention that the Playboy Mansion will be mixed together with the adjacent property, and we’re still in the dark about what’s to come: more parties, events or some bikini babes focused by cameras? Some might remember that Hefner’s company bought the property over 45 years ago for just $1 million. Not a bad deal, right?
