We’re been presenting some of the best personal submarines in the past, but we got something else in store for you this time. If you just want to explore the sea and have fun below and on water today’s Killer Whale Submarine is the best submarine for you. It was designed to look exactly like the Orca whale, featuring 2 seats – it is able to submerge and breach, just like a real life exemplary.

To accomplish rolls and stealthy dives, the pilot controls the twin levers from under a half-an-inch thick acrylic canopy. The power plant is represented by a Rotax axial flow engine with an output of 255 HP, which also allows skyhopping and porpoising. In addition, the vessel can hydroplane over the water’s surface at 50 mph or cruise at 25 mph. The dorsal fin has an integrated snorkel that allows air to get to the engine.

Inside the cockpit, we can notice the state of the art dashboard that features tachometer, air pressure gauges, speedometer and live videos from the fin camera displayed on an LCD screen. A lot of attention has been given to safety, the pilot and passenger both being protected by Vinyl seats with closed-cell foam upholstery plus four-point racing harnesses.

All this fun is costly though – in the form of $100,000 per unit. Quite a lot, right?

  1. This is amazing and why I dream of personal submarines, and hope they will proliferate and the cost of ownership will come down soon!
