Originally established in 1891 by the brothers Albert and Gustav Stolz in Le Locle, Switzerland, Angelus went through some hard time in the second half of the 20th century and had to cease operations. Recently, however, the brand has risen from the ashes and is now making waves with the stunning U10 Tourbillon Lumière limited edition timepiece.
The watch comes with a rather large 62.7mm x 38mm x 15mm annealed steel case, which is , bead-blasted and treated with black PVD on the inside. Furthermore, it has seven AR-coated sapphire crystals and is water resistant to 30 meters.
Movement is the Swiss manual-wind Angelus in-house caliber A100 with 38 jewels, 18,000 vph and a power reserve of 90 hours. The watch features a vast array of functions, including hours, minutes, central dead beat seconds, one-minute flying tourbillon, and linear power reserve indication.
The stylish, very distinctive dial is translucent-grey coated concave sapphire with a black outer ring. There are two white SuperLuminova dots at 12 o’clock, as well as single white SuperLumimova dots at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, which is great for legibility. The hour, minute and power reserve hands are brushed-finished, rhodium-treated, with black SuperLuminova that glows blue in the dark. Finally, this striking watch comes on a hand-stitched black alligator leather strap with a stainless steel folding buckle.
The U10 Tourbillon Lumière by Angelus was released as highly exclusive special edition comprising just 25 timepieces.
