The founder of Wilson Audio, Dave Wilson, has yet another surprise for audio equipment enthusiasts – he’s delighted to present the exquisite Alexandria XLF Speakers. Looking like a supercomputer from the late 1960s, the set of speakers measures 178 centimeters (70-inches) in height and weighs a staggering 297 kg (655 pounds).
Not for those who prefer light and easy-to-move-around gadgets, these bulky stereos are the perfect match for those addicted to high-quality acoustics, regardless of size. The speakers are equipped with two woofers, a 13-inch and a 15-inch one, a 1-inch tweeter, a 1-inch super tweeter and two 7-inch midrange drivers.
They also come with the possibility of being tuned to the local environment via a forward or rear-firing bass port, at customer’s choice, and a Cross Load Firing Port. In addition customers can choose from a wide variety of colors and designs to personalize them.
Having debuted this week in Europe and being purchasable in the US from March, they are available at the staggering price of $200,000 per pair. The Alexandria XLF Speakers are ready to resuscitate audiophiles’ hearts, if they can afford them.
