BMT Group and McConaghy Boats have recently announced they will be developing the Tri60, an awesome-looking 60-foot trimaran concept that has already caught the expert’s eye, earning a place on the shortlist for the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2015 in the Yacht Concept up to 40m category.
The two companies had previously worked together on a composite project while the 142-foot Adastra trimaran was in its final stages of development, and wanted to create something to “capture the spirit” of that project. Something which would be both innovative and exciting, a luxury leisure vessel that also offered all the benefits of a power boat.
Henry Ward Design and A Sea Marine also helped with the design of the Tri60, which is available in two versions, each focused on one of the vessel’s two “personalities”: the open Cabriolet (for those who enjoy the occasional rush of adrenaline) and the Saloon (for those who would mostly prefer to kick back and relax while at sea). Both versions are built around a standard hull, with a wide beam that is usually seen on much larger yachts. The Tri60 also boasts plenty of windows, skylights, and sliding glass doors, letting in an abundance of natural light and allowing for a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living.
