During this month’s Paris Motor Show, Rolls Royce has unveiled its ultra-exclusive Phantom Metropolitan Collection. The new special edition vehicle is quite a sight: the one currently on display comes in a Darkest Tungsten exterior finish, but potential buyers have about 44,000 colors to choose from.
But it’s the luxurious sedan’s interior that really deserves a closer look. Its stylish urban, theme is somewhat in contrast with the addition of a picnic table, though this isn’t exactly your regular surface. The table is created by putting together no fewer than 500 individual wood veneer pieces, all very carefully selected in order to be of the highest quality, which are arranged to show a cityscape from above when folded out for use and a skyline when stowed. In addition to this, the Phantom Metropolitan’s interior also boasts Aetherius Grey leather and a special central rear seat with 6,800 two-tone stitches that display an abstract image of a skyscraper. There’s even a clock with a rotating bezel that shows 24 of the world’s metropolises and their time zones.
The Rolls Royce Phantom Metropolitan Collection comprises just 20 cars, each priced at $570,000 – and it has already sold out.
