The SSC Ultimate Aero II is a supercar designed with the main reason of becoming the world’s fastest production car. It’s predecessor, the Ultimate Aero I held the record for a while but the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport released this year managed to break this record. The Aero II wants the title back.
Top Gear has just released new official images with the SSC Ultimate Aero II and, on top of that, we also received a couple of much needed details about this supercar. The Aero II will be powered by a 6.8L twin turbo V8 engine which is able to produce an astonishing power of 1,350 bhp!!!
The car’s body features a very lightweight construction mainly of carbon fiber and this supercar sits on the world’s first single-cast, carbon fiber wheels which weight less than 5.9 kg. The total weight is 1,179 kg /2,600 lbs which means this car has a massive power-to-weight ratio.
0 to 60 mph will be achieved in just 2.8 seconds and it’s top speed is predicted to be 443 km/h. The record breaking Bugatti Veyron Super Sport had a top speed of 431 km/h which means this car should be a little faster. The price? The SSC Ultimate Aero II will cost exactly $970,000 or 696,000 EUR.
