Not everyone prefers the touchscreen, which has become an obligatory feature of every modern smartphone. Some people are still nostalgic over the old bar shaped devices with real buttons you can actually feel, and these are the people Canadian luxury mobile phone maker Mobiado caters to. On March 7 the company has unveiled the first device in its new Dream Color series: The Professional 3 DC – Piet Mondrian.

The release date was specifically chosen to coincide with the famous painter’s birthday. Mondrian is regarded as one of the most important figures of the Dutch modern movement and is known for the purity and simplicity of his artistic style. As for Mobiado’s new creation, it is sort of an homage to the artist’s famous ‘Composition A’. Hand-painted and made from sturdy yet light aircraft-grade aluminium, set with large sapphire crystal plates, it is without a doubt a luxurious piece both art-lovers and those who miss the old mobile phone design and functionality will appreciate.
