Mercedes-Benz will be showcasing their version of the whole coupe/SUV combination with the appropriately called Concept Coupe SUV during the 2014 Beijing Auto Show.
The car is a real beast, 16 feet long, over 6 feet wide, and riding on 22-inch wheels. Its front is covered in chrome mesh, while the hood features pronounced creases – making the vehicle a very impressive sight when you look at it head-on. The rest of the Coupe Concept SUV’s styling isn’t quite as bold, with a sweeping curve starting at the A-pillar and ending just above the taillights dominating the profile, while the back features simple horizontal lines with a strip of lights wrapping around, and flat oval exhaust pipes to complete the elegant, if unimposing look.
The vehicle is powered by a twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 with 333 horsepower and 354 lbs-ft of torque. This is connected through Mercedes’ 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic gearbox to all of the car’s four wheels.
With Mercedes treating its concepts as previews of upcoming vehicles rather than just creative exercises, it’s safe to say we might be seeing something very similar to the Concept Coupe SUV, bearing the three-pointed star logo, on the road sometime in the future.
