Mercedes has taken the wraps off the new AMG GT, a two-door supercar which will be showcased during next month’s Paris Auto Show.
Both the GT and the GT S version are powered by a 4.0-liter bi-turbocharged V8, which outputs 462 PS (456 hp) and 510 PS (503 hp) respectively. According to the manufacturer, the GT S can accelerate from naught to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds, while the GT does the same in 4.0 seconds.
The AMG GT is 4,546mm long, 1,939mm wide and 1,289mm tall, and has an aluminum chassis which ensures the vehicle tips the scales 3,395 lbs (1,540 kg), while the GT S is just a bit heavier weighing in at 3,461 lbs (1,570 kg). The latter also counts an electronically controlled differential and the AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with three-stage damping among its standard features. Furthermore, a ceramic high-performance composite brake system with 402mm discs at the front and 360mm at the rear is available as an option for both models.
The AMG GT and GT S will hit the markets in Europe right after their Paris debuts, while the UK and the US will get the new cars starting in the spring of 2015.
