JW Marriott is opening its first hotel in Italy – and what better place to start than in one of the country’s most picturesque cities, Venice? The retreat is scheduled to open in March 2015 on Isola delle Rose (Rose Island) and will take its place among the many hotels which aim to accommodate the millions of people who visit the city on the lagoon every year.
Built in collaboration with the Italian architects at Matteo Thun & Partners, the 266-room hotel is surrounded by 16 acres of fruit arbors and olive groves, which not only give the luxury hotel a certain rustic charm, but also act as a source of fresh produce for the on-site restaurants and bars.
Among the many great amenities the hotel has to offer are watersport facilities, a kid’s club, an amazing rooftop pool, and an extensive spa operated by GOCO Hospitality. Thanks to its excellent location, the JW Marriott Venice can also boast stunning views of the city’s world-famous landmarks, such as St. Mark’s Square and the Basilica.
