When Danish designer Henrik Fisker, known for his work at Aston Martin and for co-founding a company specializing in luxury hybrid cars, reveals something new, the world usually pays attention. This time, it’s the Thunderbolt, an awesome concept based on the Aston Martin Vanquish.
The most noticeable modification compared to the Aston Martin is the reworked carbon fiber body, along with the enlarged grille and significantly more sloped roofline, but the car has also been lowered by 15 mm and now sits on 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped around in performance tires. The vehicle also features redesigned LED taillights, a large power dome, triangular air intakes, and a trunk-mounted spoiler.
Inside the cabin the most eye-catching element is the high-resolution 11.6-inch Panasonic Curved Control Screen, designed to reduce glare and reflections. Also included is a Skeleteon chronograph built into the dashboard, with Italian furniture manufacturer Natuzzi providing some of specially trimmed leather surfaces. Rounding things off in style, the car also comes with a champagne/wine bottle holder, though we suppose the actual imbibing should be postponed until after you reach your destination.
While its creators have called the Thunderbolt a mere design study, a small number of cars will in fact be built on special order by California-based dealership Galpin Aston Martin.
