Harry Winston Premier Monkey

The well-known American jeweler and watchmaker thought it was a good idea to honor the Chinese New Year, designing a special timepiece for the occasion called the Harry Winston Premier Monkey Automatic.

Limited to a short series of just 8 pieces, this incredible watch features a tiny monkey, deftly suspended from a glittering gemstone, with pink and gold in the background.

Imagined by Harry Winston’s artisans with the Year of the Monkey in mind, which starts on February 8th, this lovely watch comes with a 18kt rose gold case, measuring 36 mm x 8.4 mm, with double sapphire crystals and capable to handle up to 30 meters of water. The timepiece also comes with 57 brilliant-cut diamonds, worth about 2.32 carats.

In terms of technicalities, the Swiss automatic Harry Winston caliber HW2008 is in charge of movement, with its 28 jewels, 28,800 vph and featuring a power reserve of 46 hours. A flat silicon balance spring, rhodium plating, circular graining and Côtes de Genève decoration are all meant to impress us – which they do, actually.

That large pink dial is complemented by flecks of 24kt gold, with each one set in individually carved hollows. The 18kt gold monkey shows off a tiny diamond for an eye, while the watch will adorn your wrist with the aid of a black technological satin strap.

There’s also an 18kt rose gold ardillon buckle set with 17 brilliant-cut diamonds that makes this watch even more precious.
