It’s always great to see top brands teaming up and coming up with new and interesting products, especially when the association isn’t one you’d expect. And it doesn’t get more unusual than the collaboration between Swiss watchmaker Hublot and Scottish whisky brand Johnnie Walker.
It seems that whiskey is increasingly popular in East Asia, with the only three Johnnie Walker Houses located outside Scotland being opened Shanghai, Beijing (both in China) and Seoul, South Korea. A Johnnie Walker House is a bar-like space that is supposed to be an ambassador of whisky culture, a place where you can enjoy your drink in a classy setting and alongside great company and where you can even culture yourself by taking up some “whiskey appreciation” classes.
The limited edition Hublot Johnnie Walker was actually created in collaboration with the Beijing Johnnie Walker House and features the Scottish company’s logo on the face, in addition to the “John Walker & Sons” motif on the rear. The timepiece comes in a 44mm black ceramic case and has a skeletonized Hublot HUB4214 automatic chronograph movement. Its brown tones are reminiscent of the color of whiskey and combine elegantly with the black pushers, crown, dial, and strap (which is hornback alligator on a rubber lining).
The Big Bang Aero Johnnie Walker House will be released as a limited 25 piece series and will only be available for purchase in China.
