German tuner MTM has created the S8 Talladega, which might just be that new RS8 model Audi seems to have forgotten to make.
The standard S8 is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine which develops 520PS (510hp), however thanks to MTM’s improvements (in both the hardware and the software departments), the powerplant churns out a hefty 760PS (750hp) at 5,950 rpm and 945Nm (697 lb-ft) between 1,700 and 5,500 rpm. This allows the vehicle to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.48 seconds, charging past the 124 mph (200 km/h) mark in 10.51 seconds, and reaching a maximum speed of 202 mph (325 km/h) – not because it couldn’t go any faster (MTM says its maximum speed would exceed 218 mph, or 350 km/h), but because its road-legal tires couldn’t handle more than that figure.
Other features include new carbon and ceramic brakes on both axles, an electronic module to lower the air suspension, an aerodynamic kit reminiscent of Audi’s RS models together with RS-style twin oval, instead of the S8’s four pipes, and a set of 21-inch Bimoto alloy wheels shod in 295/30 Michelin Pilot Super Sports rubber.
The MTM S8 Talladega would set you back about $236,000 (€189,708), which includes the $144,000 for a new S8 (€115,800), $43,500 (€35,000) for the engine modification, and $18,700 (€15,000 ) for the aero kit, among others.
