Following years of development, Acura has finally showcased the new NSX hybrid sports car at the 2015 North American International Auto Show.

With regards to looks, Acura hasn’t made many modifications compared to the 2013 concept, though the new vehicle is a few inches longer, wider, and taller. The wheelbase is also a bit longer, but other than that it’s easy to recognize the style of the previous version of the car.

The engine is a totally different story. Here, the Japanese company has decided to replace naturally aspirated V6 of the 2013 model with a longitudinally-mounted twin-turbocharged V6 which outputs over 550 horsepower. This engine, together with three electric motors, sends all the power to both axles to form what Acura calls the Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive.

At this stage, there isn’t much information about the new Acura NSX. In addition to what we’ve mentioned above, we know that the production-ready sports car will have a dial-operated Integrated Dynamic System with Quiet, Sport, Sport+ and Track modes which depending on what you select will adjust the settings of the engine, electric motors, gearbox and chassis, and also the engine sound level. No word on the price, either, though the figure is rumored to be somewhere around $150,000.
