Coming from the heart of the Netherlands, from the experienced hands of the Nolet family, this is the most expensive gin in the world – limited edition Nolets’ Reserve. Priced at $700 a bottle, it’s not what I’d call cheap or affordable by everyone, but let’s just give it a go.
Having been started back in 2010, the series is celebrated every year on the 15th of May around Carolus’ birthday. This year, the limited edition Nolets’ Reserve has had us baffled completely. In excess of 1,500 bottles have been sold until today, each of the lot having been individually signed and numbered by the chairman himself. Well, this particular booze celebrates the three years since Carolus had started concocting the precious liquor, from the finest of flavors and plants.
Fabricated from the usual Nolets’ Reserve ingredients, notes of red berries, apples and rose petals can also be sensed as you sip the drink up. The one off distilling procedures also raise the exquisiteness factor of the gin. Mind you, the Nolets’ distillation techniques have been around for a whopping 322 years, but this 10th generation successor leads the brand accordingly. Carolus H. J. Nolet, the current chairman of Nolets’ Spirits Worldwide, gets assistance from his two sons – Bob and Carl Jr. The Ketel One vodka, priced at $25 a bottle, is also distilled by them.
