The jaw dropping Aspid GT-21 Invictus supercar

What we’ve got here is an absolutely staggering piece of automotive perfection coming straight from Spain. The Aspid GT-21 Invictus is an amalgam of lightweight parts, stunning looks and BMW muscle, all mounted inside a raging beast, ready to figuratively explode on the track.

If you’re familiar with the Aspid Super Sport, a concept unveiled in 2008, note that this is actually an improved version of it. And by “improved” we mean modernized components, more power, larger size and much better looks.

Based on the lightweight chassis design, just like the Super Sport, the Aspid GT-21 Invictus features materials like ultra light super strong steel and composites, and aerospace-grade aluminum, to minimize weight, maximize safety and facilitate performance. The model quietly resembles the Super Sport, through the composite body, semi-open front wheels, narrow hood and hammerhead front fascia. It is reportedly the first semi-open-wheel GT 2+2 in the world, as Aspid proudly declare, but the statement hasn’t come with official confirmation.

Most importantly, this is a machine with strong character. A persona which you’d better not argue with, it delivers 450 HP. It is quite low, if you put the number aside the better-known supercars of today, but, considering that this car weighs a stunning 2,200 lbs (around 990kg) – less than a tone, it boosts from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 305 km/h (189 mph). That acceleration is better than Ferraris’, while the Aventador needs 690 HP to reach it.

The chief designer and Aspid founder, Ignacio Fernández Rodriquez, declared: “We aim to offer a unique and unforgettable experience when a customer buys one of our sports cars. We believe our factory model and our relationship with each customer will be unique and set a new standard in the market. It will be more like the relationship experienced between a professional race driver and his race engineer and race team.” Some daring words he brought forward, but we think they’re totally supported by the magnificent Aspid GT-21 Invictus and its history.

The availability of this car is going to be as limited as is the car gorgeous to look at – only 250 will be manufactured, per year, entirely by hand. There will reportedly be a stunning list of 100 plus options to choose from, a heaven for customers. They can even choose to do changes in the car’s geometry and handling. They will be personally invited to check on the progress of the construction process. Throughout Europe, 20 dealers will be chosen to ease up the sales.
