The new Amer 94 superyacht by Permare Group has no outrageous reason or feature to stand out from a select crowd, such as the one at the 2015 Cannes Yachting Festival. However, a closer inspection reveals that this sleek go-fast superyacht is unlike any other vessel in its class: the Italian yacht features three Volvo Penta 1200s, connected to Volvo IPS drives.
This means that, although the Amer 94 isn’t the first yacht under 100 feet to have the IPS pod system, the Italian superyacht incorporates the latest and greatest 900 hp Volvo engines. As a result, it will easily reach 30 knots while still burning a third less fuel than other vessels boasting a traditional diesel engine.
The Premare Group also brags about the fact that their design delivers double the speed of a displacement yacht of the same length, while burning the same amount of fuel. How’s that for efficient? The Volvo IPS system is also responsible for extra interior space and improved maneuverability.
Moreover, the vessel’s 10-foot draft makes it capable of navigating through shallow waters, where others can’t even imagine to go. The vessel comes with a five-stateroom configuration, with the master suite benefiting from a lot of extra space.
Aesthetically, it’s all sleek, elegant, but not rule-breaking. A large sundeck is partially covered by a retractable carbon-fiber hard top, while a large sunning area makes any day even hotter. The yacht also features a long, sweeping window, which allows the large main-deck saloon and dining room to benefit from plenty of natural light.
A 12-foot tender garage accommodates a foldable 17-foot Extender rigid-hulled inflatable, which takes care of the entertainment if someone were to get bored. How could that happen, with the fastest, most fuel-efficient superyacht in its class?
