Absolut’s new luxury vodka, Elyx, has introduced a new pop-up water truck and retail boutique in New York that will start a three city tour of the country all through November and December, going from New York to Los Angeles and Miami. The pop-up truck will sell the brand’s bespoke limited edition copper pineapples, which can be purchased online as well.
All this is part of Elyx’s philanthropy campaign, Water For People, an international non-profit organization dedicated to providing access to safe water in developing countries. With that in mind, it should not come as a surprise that a portion of the proceeds will go directly to the organization’s declared purpose.
The vintage 25 foot Elyx truck will be officially launched in the Meatpacking district. It shows off a bar, a rolling retail boutique and it’s definitely way more luxurious than you’d expect. For every bottle of exquisite vodka sold, Elyx will provide access to one week of safe water (140 liters) to someone in need. Moreover, every copper pineapple drinking vessel will allow someone access to one month of water (560 liters).
This is definitely a unique idea, so kudos to Elyx for coming up with it. If nothing else, the Elyx Water Truck will help to raise awareness for the global water crisis. Feel free to help, any way you can.
