The first official timekeeper of the 2013 SPA Classic is, very happily and well deserved, Richard Mille. The race will reportedly be held in Belgium, at the Spa-Francorchamps, between the 24th and the 26th of May. Above all, the Richard Mille RM 011 SPA Classic 2013 timepiece is meant to satisfy the timekeeping tastes of Belgian fans, and, why not, all sorts of European enthusiasts.
The awesome gadget encompasses a flyback chronograph with countdown timer, Richard Mille’s in-house variable rotor technology, annual calendar. In addition, the makers have painted it in a stunning combination of tones, from a gorgeous red under the indicators to a stunningly mysterious blue, all depicting the official colors of the event. A stunning feature is the way the skeletonized movement in PVD-treated grade 5 titanium contrasts with the Spa Classic logo positioned at 12 o’clock and with the red and white chronograph dials. The case was microblasted for this particular timepiece, the pusher covers were treated with DLC, while the case-middle columns were superbly polished by the brand’s watchmaking specialists.
Furthermore, the exquisite timepiece comes with rather interesting technical specifications – 60-minute countdown timer, 12-hour totalizer, the caliber RMAC1, movement with 62 jewels, frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibes per hour) and the Glucydur balance wheel with 4 arms and lever angle of 53 degrees. The watch measures 50 mm x 40 mm x 16.15 mm.
The Richard Mille RM 011 SPA Classic 2013 is a dramatically limited edition and will be available in just 50 units.
